On a lighter note . . .

I have been meaning to post this for a while now. I thought that I would do a favorites list from our trip to Europe. So here goes!! Here are some of my favorites in no particular order because they are all so good and I just can't decide.

The windmills in the Netherlands.
The Bridge at Remagen in Germany. An important bridge in WWII.
Neuschwanstein castle in Germany. Can you say Disneyland? This is really from our camera.
The Koln (Cologne) cathedral. Most amazing cathedral I have ever seen . . . and I have seen a lot of cathedrals.
Dachau concentration camp. This is a picture of one of the incinerators.
Prague. So beautiful!
The monument in St. Quay Portrieux, France the location of Mitch's grandpa's WWII monument. So amazing! It has his grandpa's B-17 propellor on it that was fished out of the ocean where the plane crashed.
This is the church of St. Mere Eglise. In WWII this is where a falling paratrooper was caught on the church. They have a fake paratrooper that is on the church in remembrance. We knew the story of how the paratrooper got caught but we didn't know that they had the fake paratrooper on it. So when we arrived we were surprised to see it.

The monument and cemetary at Normandie. So amazing. If you are going to go to Europe you must see this. This picture does not do it justice at all.

The Berlin Wall. It was so amazing to see. I still can't believe it really existed. I always envisioned that it was this wall that went straight across the city. That is not the case. It zigzagged its way throughout the city. Many times family members were on opposite sides of the wall and were separated. They still have stone markings of where the wall was throughout the city. It is quite the sight.

The famous Running of the Bulls in Pamplona. 2 minutes of awesomeness!!!

Last but definitely not least, Michael Jude Murphy, or as Amanda and I refer to him, "MJM." He was the guy that owned the place we stayed at for the running of the bulls. Oh, and we used his balcony for watching the running. Yes, he is wearing a bathrobe. That was his outfit of choice the morning of the running. Did I mention he was Irish? Yes, he was the stereotypical Irish with the accent, beer and all. It was from him that my favorite quote came, "You really f-ed me up, you really f-ed me up. " Yes, he dropped the f-bomb left and right. Oh, he also said, "Only the mad bitches run." If you would like to hear me do an impression just ask. I will gladly oblige. Did I mention at the end he gave us his business card and that he has a myspace page? Ha! Ha!

Phenomenal. I cannot believe you really went to all those places. Did I mention Ben's grandpa was one of the Dachau liberators? I actually haven't ever seen pictures of it. It's really something. I am so glad you and Mitch did that!
