What do you do when flying for 19 hours? Read!

So, we flew a lot on our way back home. So, I read the Kite Runner. Wow. This book was so good! I was totally fascinated by it. In summary, this book was about a young boy growing up in Afghanistan where he witnessed something that changed his life forever. Later in the book, he and his father fled from Afghanistan when Russia invaded in the 70's and they then later ended up in the U.S.A. He returns to see an old friend in wore-torn and Taliban oppressed Afghanistan in 2001 where he is finally able to feel at peace again after several decades.

This story is amazing and the book is very well written. I recommend it to anyone. 5 stars!

Are you home now?? Welcome back! I heard a lot about Kite Runner but didn't have much intrest in reading it. Then I saw the movie and bawled! It is really good! I definitely want to read it now. And A Thousand Spledid Suns.

I must be the only person who hated that book. I thought what happened was horrible that the people deserved to be treated the way they did. It was too disturbing for me. But I read "Stolen Lives," a true story about a family in Morocco that is put into prison for 16 years, and that made my heart ache for the injustices they experienced. Welcome home! What are you going to do now? :)
