Today was a sad day . . .

I found out this morning that my cat, Cookie, had to be put asleep last night. She was 19. I have been crying on and off all day. I knew she was going to probably pass away this summer. I was telling Mitch I seriously feel like I lost my best friend. But, she was so old and was just not doing well. It was her time to go.

I will have to admit that I feel strange making a post about a pet. But, oh well. I have had her since I was six or seven. She is just part of our family.

I can honestly say that leaving her to move to Tennessee was hard. But, she was just getting so old that she would have been confused if I took her with me. She just needed to stay home. I miss her already.

I'm sorry Cookie died. 19 years is a long time for a cat to live. RIP!

She was put to rest surrounded by her family who loved her (even Dad was so sad!) and now she isn't suffering anymore. We have memories from lots of happy years with her, and pictures of her sweet little face. I loved how she looked after getting shaved! So adorable!

That is sad. Why did they have to put her to asleep? Was she sick?

I know how hard it is to lose a pet. Frank & I had a terrible time after losing our bird Cami. They are a part of the family. I noticed when I was in SL at your home that cookie didn't look too well. I'm glad that I got to pet her and talk to her. We will get to see them again some day.
